Congratulations to Halley for her performance at Level 8 Region 8 2013 Championships in Atlanta! She placed 2nd in the region on vault with a 9.475 and 3rd on beam with a 9.4! She also scored her personal highest of the season on uneven bars with a 8.8 and scored a 9.225 on floor, totaling a 36.9 (8th) All-Around score!

STARS is very proud to announce we have two new state champions! Congratulations to Reyna and Ysabella for winning first place titles on vault at Level 7 2013 State Championships today! Congratulations to all of the prep-opts who rocked Sand Dollar Invitational tonight at Disney! Special congratulations to Brooke for getting 9.65's and first place on both beam and floor and Stasia for her FIRST 9 on beam! Good luck to the level 7 and 8s tomorrow!

Level 7 Region 8 Regional Championships, Tupelo, MS

STARS Gymnastics is extremely proud of our first Regional Qualifier, Brooks Anne Harris.  Brooks Anne scored an impressive 9.7 to claim the Regional Vault title. She also finished 10th on the balance beam and 7th in the all around.

2010 Optional Season

STARS had a spectacular showing during the 2010 Optional season.  Including 1st Place Team (Prep Op) at the Magical Classic in Orlando and 2nd Place Team at the Presidential Classic at Disney's Wide World of Sports, our young team of gymnasts exceeded expectations.  Ending the season with a very successful showing at the State Championships in Daytona:

Now, add to all this a visit from our friend 3 time Olympic Champion Svetlana Boguinskaia to work on  floor and beam routines for some of our optional gymnasts.  Having Svetlana in or facility always brings a stir of excitement and the flashing of cameras.

2009 Level 4 State Championships

The 2009 Level 4 State Championships were held in Coral Springs and proved to be a valuable learning experience for our young team. All 11 gymnasts were competing in thair first ever State Championships and did a great job. Everything for a new team is a learning experience and to compete in a venue far from home in a large arena in front of the ladies in blue, large audiences and a host of competitors can be difficult. We are pleased to report that there were no falls on beam, and many of the girls scored personal best on individual events.

The highlight of the meet was Reyna Guggino who scored a 9.85 on Vault to become the 2009 State Vault Champion. We are proud of everyone.

 2009 Level 3 and 5 State Championships

The State Championship Meet was held at the Lakeland Center in Lakeland where over 500 gymnasts competed for top honors and it was another great meet for Stars Gymnastics. A lot of great coaches, teams and gymnasts filled the arena as they were about to compete in their last compulsory meet of the Level 3 and Level 5 competitive season. After two long days of some great gymnastics three memebers of The Stars Gymnastics Team came back home as State Vaulting Champions.

Everyone is anxious to put these routines aside and concentrate on the excitment of training new skills and routines. Our plan at STARS is to always work hard and push forward toward new and higher goals.

Gene Stowe Invitational 2009

The Gene Stowe Invitational was another great meet for Stars Gymnastics. Some very high individual scores flashed on the marquee as we continue to reach for the stars. Our young gymnasts are becoming more confident with each and every meet. Their progress and effort is becoming evident in the competitive atmosphere of a meet situation.

Sarasota Sunfest 2009

The Sarasota Sunfest 2009 was hosted by the Sarasota Sunbeams of Sarasota and it was our 3rd meet of the season for our young gymnasts. What an outstanding weekend of performances by all our gymnasts and teams. We again were impressed with their individual effort and focus during the meet. It was quite evident that our preparation in the gym is on the right track as their execution of routines is now beginning to take on a whole new meaning. We of course realize there is much more to be addressed and accomplished but it was just a lot of fun to see our gymnasts do so well. Congratulations to all!!

One more step along the journey. As we move forward we will work on raising the bar in all aspects of training. We fully expect with the success of this meet that our gymnasts will come in excited and eager to learn and you just can't ask for anything more than that.
